Default Dynamic Earth

We have booked Dynamic Earth for July 2011 so we have a year to figure it all out!
We are concerned about dressing the room as it could look a bit 'box-like' so if anyone else is getting married there let me know what you are planning to do with it, all advice is welcome!

Oooo, we're getting married at Dynamic Earth in July 2011 too. What date are you? Are you having your meal in ozone or biosphere? I'm thinking just some coloured lights up the wall will chage how it looks a lot.

We are on the 30th, what about you?

I don't think we were given a choice - we are having the meal in the downstairs function room, is that the Ozone? Which one is the Biosphere? Do you mind me asking how big your wedding is? Just wondering if you can only get a choice if it is a certain size? Ours will be about 65.

I think the same about the coloured lights, they should definitely improve the look of the room. I really like fairy lights but there isnt really anywhere to put them.

Are you doing the Gallery thing after dinner? Am hoping that will give the day a really fun feel to it

Are you having a band? We really want one but the prices seem so high!

ooo we're the 16th so a couple of weeks before you. We actually booked about a year ago so I've had loads of time to think about what we might do with the place.

The ozone is the room upstairs with the glass sides, we're having 80 for the meal which I think was as many as we could have in there. The numbers will go up to about 120ish I think for the evening.

The gallery thing is really what sold it to me, I'm so excited about having something fun there, not a huge one for things being too formal.

We've just sent the deposit cheque off for the ceilidh band, it's one of the few things that I was certain we had to have even tho it is quite expensive.

Have just confirmed for our date and we can have the Ozone for the dinner if we want it so we just need to decide what we fancy now!

One year today, woo hoo!

oh that's exciting. Less than a year to go now! I love the ozone for the meal, so much light and views out across holyrood park. Its apparently a bit of a problem if you want a long top table tho as the room shape doesn't really lend itself to it. Not a problem for us as I always jsut wanted a round top table anyway so I can actually talk to eveyone on it!

It also gives them some extra time for turning the downstairs room around for the evening, and I was thinking that it'll be easier to give the band time to set up too if we're going to be using the room.

Hi!

Dynamic Earth is something we're thinking about. What's the Gallery?

Hi kk2b,

The gallery is an area of Dynamic Earth they open up for you after the dinner and before the evening do. You walk into a rainforest area where there is a bar set up and you can all gather in there whilst the evening guests arrive and then you walk on through a few other areas to a polar bit where there is an iceberg - you can have your own music playing throughout and it just seems like such a fun, different thing to do - and solves the problem of everyone just standing around slightly bored waiting for the evening to start.

I would book a time to go meet with the events co-ordinator to have a look round the place as it's hard to describe. We are so excited about it all!
